Brandon Burnett

Brandon began working with multimedia in college in the early nineties with such programs as HyperCard and protocols such as Gopher.   Precursors to the World Wide Web, they are relics now, but they intrigued him then with their ability to interconnect multimedia information from around the world.  He knew that these were technologies that were becoming more and more useful and accessible to the general population.  He graduated with honors from Cornell College with a major in International Business with a focus on marketing including design and psychology.

Working for the Iowa Department of Economic Development, he helped create and maintain the State’s first multimedia database of communities, available buildings and available sites.  He expanded his technical skills into the areas of web development and database programming.  After five years with the State, Brandon worked with Aura Consulting for a short time on a variety of web development projects.

Next he joined REL Productions where he developed dozens of websites and CDs.  These projects were a mix of ASP, PHP, Flash, XHTML and Javascript websites with Microsoft SQL or MySQL backends.  Many of these projects utilized the Code Charge Studio and WordPress frameworks, which deliver a lot of functionality with a limited amount of programming.  He also helped REL with the management of their network, servers and video asset management system.

Now Brandon has taken on an opportunity to focus on environmental projects, help organizations and individuals working for the improvement of their communities, and help farmers market their fresh and sustainably grown food to their local markets.
